DOOS AT WAR
Plans for the return to civiV ian life of the surplus dogs that have been trained by the Army i or war purposes have been completed, Rowland D. Schell, Regional Director of the Treasury Department Procurement Division office in Cincinnati, revealed today. The oper ation will be handled by Dogs for Defense, >nc. which will approve each individual purchaser of a discharged war dog. In order to purchase tone of these dogs, it will be necessary for each individual applicant to contact Dogs for (Defense, Inc., 22 East 60th Street, New York 22, New York, requesting the name of the agency's nearest representative. After the representative has investigated and
approved the prospective (purchase to make sure that he is able to provide a good home for the dog, the applicant will sign a contract and submit it with his check to the representative who will forward them to the Treasury Department. As the dogs become available they will be shipped to these approved purchasers. Schell sa.a that the Government's chief consideration in disposing of the dogs was to make sure that these canine veterans find good homes. They will be priced at a figure to cover the expense of handling the dogs and transportation and equipment. The prices will vary from $15 to $25, depending upon the distance from Fort Robinson, Nebraska, wnere the dogs are put through

COL. ROOSEVELT, BRIDE ON THEIR HONEYMOON
GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz., Dec. 4—(UP) —Ool. Elliott Roosevelt, second son of the President, was honeymooning here today with his third bride, blond movie actress Faye Emerson, whom he married yesterday, climaxing a romance that started at a Hollywood party 13 months ago. The couple repeated their marriage vows before the Rev. Roger VV. Sawyer, Williams, Ariz., in the glass-enclosed porch of the observation building at snow-swept Yavapai point on the rim of the Grand Canyon. Roosevelt was all smiles as he went through the double-ring. Methodist ceremony, but was so hoarse from an attack of laryn- j gitis that his husky "I do" was barely audible to the small group of guests. Outside the observation platform, a blinding snow storm b>rtted out the view of the Canyon and kept newspaper men from attending the ceremonies. "Well, at least we had a white wedding," the bridegroom commented. The bride added that it was a good thing there was something white about it, because this was her second marriage and she wasn’t permitted to wear it herself. Miss Emerson, 27, previously was married to Wallace Crawford, Jr., and has a four-year-old son. After a week’s stay here, the 34-year-old Roosevelt hopes to take his bride to the White House to meet her famous inlaws before he returns to Europe to join his AAF photographic unit.

Stop struggling for perfection, just open your heart And let healing righteousness flow in. There is a limitless supply and it is free if you just have enough faith to open the gates: For by grace are ye saved, through faith; and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.—Eph. 2:8.
