Greencastlc higli school’s boskctball team Aill piny the initial tilt of 1944-35 season Friday night wh'an the Tiger Cubs travel to Bloomington to meet the University high school outfit. New net rules will be followed this winter and most coaches believe that three of these inovations will delay the game, irk the fans, and cause considerable bickering and haggling. The trio of major rule changes are: 1. Permitting the team not in possession of the ball to call time out for an injury ’even when a score is about to be made. Previously only the team with the ball could call time out. 2. Permitting unlimited substitutions, giving the trailing team in a close contest opportunity to stop the clock, whereas previously a player could re-ehter a game twice. 3. Preventing players from interfering with the downward flight uf the ball at the basket, or, in othvr words, keeping a sky-scraping eager from batting shots away from the hoop. HOSPITAL NOTES Niles Hines of Spencer was admitted t o the Putnam County Hospital. Mrs. John Rodney antf baby son were returned to thcii home from the Putnam County hospital, Monday. THE YOUNG and the innocent suffer in war, too. These Italian children are tragic victims of the that was fought in their country. The child at left sits crying on a curbstone.
