Worrell, and member of the famous Second Ranger Batallion, has been hospitalized at the (Army’s Deshon General Hospital at Butler, Pa. for injuries he received in overseas duty in England. Eleven months of his ^lacticuUy four years service in the ‘army, have been overseas. Fvt. Howard Earl is spending a 15 day delajj enroute at the home of his mother And the home of his wife’s parents. Pvt. Earl recently graduated as a B-29 flight engineer from the engineers school at Lowry Field irj Denver. He also graduated from B-29 factory school at Boeing in Seattle, Wash. George Franklin Zimmerman, son of Private and Mrs. Otha Zimmerman was admitted to the Riley hospital for Mastoid treatments, Wednesday afternoon. Oscar Wells is reported seriously ill at the home of his sister, Mrs. Fred Lancaster, Franklin street. Mrs. Claris Terril and Miss Mary Grace McCullough of Indianapolis were week-end guests of Mrs. Floy McCullough. Corporal James H. Hurst, son of Mr. and Mra. H. C. Hurst of Cloverdale. R 1 has completed his orientation course at an air service command station, somewhere in England, designed to bridge the gap between training in the States and combat soldiering against the enemy in France.
SOCIETY NEWS Bessie Reynolds Bride Of .Inhn Tharp Miss Bessie Reynolds of Indianapolis and John Tharp of Greencastle were united in marriage Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Meek near Putnamville, with Elder S. F. Fisher j officiating. The couple was accompanied by Herbert and Flo.ence Meek. After the ceremony a lovely dinner was served at the noon hour. Mr. and Mrs. Tharp will leave on a wedding trip to California and wh visit Mrs Tharp’s brother in Oregon. Mrs. Tharp has been employed as bookkeeper at the Allis-Chalmers Co., of Indianapolis for the past two years. Mr. Tharp is a well known barber.
