That this suit is prosecuted to quiet title of the plaintiff to the lands mentioned and described in this complaint, against all demands, claims and claimants whatsoever, which lands are situate in Putnam County, in the State of Indiana, and described as fol-

lows, to-wit:

Purls of sections eight (8) and nine (9) in township thirteen (LI) north, of range four (4) west, hounded as follows, to-wit: Beginning «t the southwest corner of the east half of tin* northwest quarter of said section eight <#>, and running thence east with the smith line of the north half of said section eight <S) and the south line of the north half of said section nine (9), a distance of 71 chains and 85 links to the west line of the right-of-way of the Louisville. New Albany and Chicago Railroad Company; thence north 14 degrees and 20 minutes west with the said line of said right of way 23 ehalns and 72 links to a point, which is 1*» chains and 89*4 links south of the north line of said section nine <9*; thence west parallel to the north lines of saicl sections OH chains and 83 links to a point on the West line of the east half of the northwest quarter of said sect Ton eight (8), which point is 1H chains and 89V4 links south of the northwest corner of said east half of said northwest quarter of said section eight (8); thence south 23 chains and 10 links to the place of beginning, eontaining 160.12 acres,
