AT LOCAL THEATRES

* ——7 I Many a lass would sue her shoe coufon for many a month ahead to get the personal attention of Cuy Pearce, make-up expert at 20t!i Century-Fox studios. But during the filming of "Buffalo (Bill,” the thrill-swept Technicolor hit starring Joel MeCrea, Maureen O'Hair and Linda Darnell, at the Voncastle Theater, Mr Pearce found himself very bus with some characters who didn't voice one bit of appreciation. From the test stage enianaped sentences in Mr. Pearce's voice. What he said was pretty incomprehensible. "Figure’s all right, but the color's wrong. That one’s face is swell, but to something about th-' mane. That one's mane is okay, but the tail needs more." Mr. Pearce was busy making up horses being tested that day for a top feature role in “Buffalo Bill.” Make-up was applied so the horse with a figure would warrant being called “Powder Face,” the horse Joel McCren rides in the early scenes of the picture.

Local Team Raps Coal City, 28-6 Greencastle's baseball team, composed of high school and recent high school graduates, annexed its fourth -traight victory in as many weeks' Sunday afternoon by romping oven Coal City, 28 to 6. The game was played on the Coal City diamond before a large crowd and after the first inning there was no doubt as to the outcome of the contest which resulted in a runaway for the local hardball aggregation. Jimmy Zeis, third baseman for the ■ freencastle nine, again led the bating attack with two home runs, two triples and a single in seven trips to the plate. Catcher Jimmy Hedge Bso poled out a circuit smash. John Ross, who twirled the firs* seven innings for the locals, allowed only 8 hits. Ross was not so bad with the willow himself, collecting 4 singles in 7 times up. Jimmy Taylor pitched the last two inings for Greencastle, allowing no Coal City hits. Greencastle will play either Coal City or Spencer here this coming Sunday, it was announced. The box score of the Greencastle team follows:
