With a final payment of $21,000, the Church of ,’ie Nazarene today consummated an obligation of $250,000, purchase pi ice of the buildings and grounds of Olivet Nazarene College, it was announced by Dr. A. L. Parrott, president, at Kankakee, 111. The church had been given fifteen years in which to pay for the property, formerly a Catholic institution. Mortgage burning ceremonies, as well as its official dedication, will be conducted at the college May 24, with Dr R. T. Williams, general superintendent, delivering the principal address. Representatives in attendance from the Indianapolis District will include Rev. Jesse Towns, Rev. Everett Atkimon, Rev. Gene Phillips, all of Indianapolis; Dr. Grover Van Duyr., Greenfield; Rev. M. J. Jones. Richmond; Rev. Harry Carter, Clearmont: and Rev. Joseph Collins, Evansville. The college resumed its sessions here in September, 1940, five nv-mths after purchase of the present site. The transfer was made because of a fire in 1839 which destroyed buildings and facilities at the former site near Danville, Illinois. Church officials said the present property is valued at $1,112,455. The college has on hand a balance of $53,000 to pay on the cost of constructing a dormitory for women and a chapel after the war ends, Dr. J. F. Leist, treasurer, said. .
