A delicious dinner was served at the noon hour. The table decorations were in keeping with St. Valentine’s Day. Place mats of red and whit; crepe paper hearts were used and favors of small American flags were at each plate. The center piece was a beautiful white cake, decorated with the American Flag and bear-

Women of the Moose and Loyal Order of the Moose will have a benefit dance January 28th, the proceeds to be turned into the infantile paralysis fund. Members and invited guests may attend. Mr. and Mrs. Rayl Riley and Cpl Raymond Riley, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Riley and daughter Corlyn of Martinsville, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Riley were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don Riley of Indianapolis Mrs. Mary Grubto and Maynarc Grubb had as their Sunday dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Mi roof Dugger, Mr. and Mrs. George Grubb and daughter Joan of Vin cennes, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Stonef of Greencastle, Mrs. William Grufbb, and Miss Anna Sunner of Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Twomey, 701 Bloomington street, had as their Sunday guests, their daughters of Indianapolis, and Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson and daughter Ardith. The occasion was in celebration of the birthdays of Mr. Nelson, Ardith and Donald Twomey, which occurred recently. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Young of Rockville and former residents of Franklin township, have received word from their son, Elmer, Jr., who is a bomber pilot stationed in England. that he was not a member of the Jack Watson bomber which was riddled with shell fire over a recent mission in Germany. Elmer is piloting his own bomber and has already been in four missions over important German targets, including Ludwigshaven, Bremen, Gemany and Bordeaux and Pasde Calais, France.

The annual March of Dimes to col. lect funds to carry on the commendable work of the National Foundation is always brought to an end on the last day of January. In this pe.. iod the cooperation of everyone is appreciated and has succeeded in bringing happiness to hundreds of children that are stricken each year with the terrible disease infantile paralysis. Greencastle and Putnam county have always responded splendidly, and the chairman Rexel! Lloyd, has expressed confidence that th 1944 drive will be successful. The colored Boy Scout tr<>":i is not participating in the drive-this-year as arrangiments had already been made with women’s organizations. The Boy Scouts will also assist n the collection to be made at the Chateau theater during the week.
