Sixty members of the American Zinc Products Recreational Association banqueted at the Gobin Memorial church, Friday evening, with Chester Crawley, the association president, presiding over the informal program. The feature of the evening was the presentation, by the organization, of a handsome gift to Aden Hanks, veteran employe of the mill, who recently retired from his position there. At the conclusion of the dinner program, the company adjourned to the American Legion

Cammack of Oreencastle. + 4' + + Home Ec Connell Planned Year’s Program “Making adjustments to the war situation’’ was the theme chosen by members of the County Home Economics Club Council when they met Thursday at the court house to plan next year's program. The council consists of the president from each club and county officers. Miss Elsie Glasgow’. Purdue University, and Miss M. Anne Bushnell. Home Demonstration Agent, met with the group Thursday. During 1941 local leader lessons will be givenby Purdue specialista on meal planning to include meat substitutes and other rathioned foods; using clothing on hand; slectionand care of textiles, with emphasi on synthetics and substitutes and making the most of our furnish-
ings.
Other topics for study will Include: methods of preserving meat at home; rugs from used materials: dress fitting; personal hygiene for good 1'ealth; dress forms; general preservation such as drying, salting, end storage; and making slip covers. Special health work and gardening will be discussed as the needs arise. Not forgetting that families will need to spend more time at home and in their local communities, it was decided to have ft well planned and organized recreastional progran. i'br club members and their families.
