William Jones of Greencastle was released Wednesday from the Putnam county hospital, where he has been confined for many weeks due to accident injuries.

Ritual chairman, Emma Albin, asks all officers, escorts and committee chairmen of Women of the Moose to be present at the regular meeting this evening at 8:00 o’clock as there will be initiation. Relatives have received word that Harry Dicks of Indianapolis is in I the Methodist hospital in a critical I condition. Little hope is held for his recovery. He is a brother-in-law of Mrs. Columbus Christy and Mrs. ! John Clark of Fillmore. Bobby Bitzer, young bicyclist, while passing bills Tuesday afternoon suffered painful cuts on his left hand when his hike crashed ; into a parked automobile on north Indiana street. According to reports, i the car came out second best in the 1 accident with a damaged fender and broken headlight .Bitzer’s wheel was only slightly damaged.

The Junior Ban 1 composed of children from the different Wards will present a concert at the Mary Emma Jones School Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. Parents and friends are invited to come. , Kenneth Moore ,a youth who escaped from the Boys’ School at Plainfield, and who has been held in the Putnam county jail since Monday. was returned to the school this morning by the school superintendent. Everett McCollum. Moore was found out at Fox Ridge Monday by j Chief of Police Buck Nelson. Robert Pierson will present a piano recital in Meharry Hall, Thursday evening at 8:00 o'clock. The program will consist of classic, romantic and modern compositions. Robert, who is the son of Prof, and Mrs. C. C. Pierson is a junior in high school and studies piano in the Preparatory Department of the DePauw Music School with Miss Leah Cuf-nutt. The public is cordially invited to attend the program. John A. Friend of the local fire department attended a meeting of state officers of the 5th Class Firemen’s Association held at fire headquarters in Indianapolis Tuesday. The local firemen are members of the association's board of directors. The association sponsors state legislation for the benefit of firemen working in 5th class cities of which there are about 45 in Indiana. The local department is 100 percent enlolled.

Toney, 7 Lawndale Street, Hammond, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Rose Marie, to Corp. Robert S. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul T. Allen of Greencastle. The wedding will take place at Salt Lake'City, Utah, June 6th. Miss Toney is a graduate of the DeFauw Music School, where she was a member of Mu Phi Epsilon. Mr. Allen, a DePauw graduate in the liberal arts schools was g member of Lambda Chi fraternity and is now with the 305th Bombardment Group Army Air Base at Sait Lake City. + -P H- + D. A. R. Elects New Officers Washburn Chapter of D. A. R. met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Jane Hays and Mrs. May Hammond, with twenty eight members and one guest present. It was decided to hold a Memorial Day service for deceased members on May 30th. This will be in charge of the chaplain, Mrs. Omer Beck.
