The Tiger Cubs failed to guard their own basket last nigh over at Brazil and consequently the Bricks won a high-scorinr high school basketball encounter to the tune of 55 to 45. Yes. sir, the Greencastle boys were woefully weak on defense. No once, but at least ten times, three Brazil boys dashed daw the hardwood court with the ball and not a Cub player wa back on defense, possibly wiih the exception of Don Goodmai who turned in the best perforn ance of any boy on either team. M- | W ,. st We certainly hope that Elson b ushes up on defensive tactics be zinc a

Greencastle made enough points to win most any contest 45, But on the other hand. Brazil rang up 55. You might say that the Brazil defense was 10 points better than Greencastle. and that wouldn’t be saying any

too much.

In our opinion and ■ 1 av played and watched I iskeliiiill . - since 1917. Elaon’s best eoinbinati"ii consists of Grimes and Goodman, forwards: Westfall, cent' i York and Houck, guards. We, and a lot of local fans, would like to see those boys get a chance to piny longet at a time together. Of course w believe it is all right to substitute but when a quintet is clicking w e n’t see til advantage of breaki up a group of net tossers who tire turning in a eta ditable performance. Now the Cubs Irtv another tough opponent Friday night in the local gym when the Columbus Bulldogs invade the city. Our prayer is that Elson will have a d. fense that won’t let the visitors ! it the jackpot for

55 points.
