A son was born to Dr. and Mrs. Richard Bloomer at an Indianapolis hospital, yesterday. Mrs. Bloomer is the former Betty Glore of Greencastle. Dr. Bloomer is in the army medical corps, stationed at Fort Knox,

All members of the Intermediate, Junior and High School departments of the Sunday School of the First Baptist church are asked to meet for choir rehearsal at 6:00 o'clock this evening. Please note change in time. The Christmas party for Cradle Roll, Beginne rs, Primary and Junior departments will be held at the Presbyterian church Saturday from 2:30 to 4:00 The Intermediate and Higli School departments will have choir practice at the same hour. Air. and Mrs. Walter Reeves have received word from their son. Richard. who is a medical officer on a war ship that was stationed in Pearl Harbor, that he came through the bombing safely. His wife who lives in Honolulu is also safe.

Second Wednesday Club Met With Mrs. Hutcheson
The Second Wednesday Club met at the home of Mrs. Forest Hutcheson on Dec. 17th for an all day i meeting. At noon a turkey pitch-in I dinner was served to twelve mem- :
hers and one guest.

Intermediate Dept. Enjoyed Party, Thursday Tne girls and hoys of the Intermediate Department of the Baptist church Sunday School held a Christmas paity Thursday evening with Miss Jean Huber as hostess. Games and contests featured the entertainment. Refreshments were served.

home of Mrs. Dorothy Chadd on Thursday afternoon for a Christmas party. Mrs. Amy Custls, the president, presided and gave the devotions. The service was in keeping with Christmas with a beautifully decorated tree. Little Ruth Chadd gave several delightful readings. After a brief business session and the exchange of gifts, the hostess served dainty r, freshments. A social hour followed with a Christmas contest. Mrs. Mammie Chadd was the winner. The next meeting will be held Wednesday. January 21st at the home of Mrs. Clara Crawley.

Mrs. Eugene Akers, east Hanna street, underwent an operation at the Putnam county hospital Friday morning. Miss Eleanor Cammack is at the home of her parents for the holiday vacation. She is connected with Purdue Library. Fred L. O’Hair, Putnam county chairman of the Defense Savings bond staff, was in Indianapolis today attending a meeting called by Will H Smith, slate chairman. Mrs. Kenneth Skelton has accepted a position in the Personnel Office of Wright Field at Dayton Ohio. Mrs. Skelton formerly taught in the Putnam and Parke countv schools. Word has been received from Hadley B. Cammack of Houston, Texas, that he with his family will arrive in Greeneastle late today for a holiday visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Cammack. The Rev. and Mrs. Albert Lewis Mer dith of this city went to Sullivan today to attend the funeral of George R. Dutton, prominent banker, whose funeral was held this afternoon. Mr. Dutton was the husband of Mrs. Meredith’s cousin. Private First Class Charles Leon Shinn of Ft. Sheridan, 111. arrived home Tuesday to spend a six da., furlough with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Shinn of Madison township. Mr. Shinn was called back on Wednesday after being home 30 hours.

The December meeting of the | Woman’s Society of Christian Set-1 vice of the Gobin Memorial Methodist church was held Thursday afternoon in the church sanctuary. The meeting opened with a prayer by Mrs. Claude McClure. A splendid Christmas program was presented following a short business meeting. Mrs. i J. P.
