Since the outbreak of hostilities in the Philippine and Hawaiian Islands, many local people have recalled Valentine Coleto, a Filipino who attended the Greencastle high school, twenty years ago. "Vair as he was better known, went to the University oX Pennsylvania after graduation from high school in 1921, where he studied medicine. He returned here in 1925 to visit friends on his way back to the Philippines. None of his close acquaintances in this city has heard from him in recent years, but it is believed that he is right in the "thick of things” in the war zone. Coleto lived in the Will Lockeridge home during most of his sojourn in Greencastle.
