Mrs. S. R. Rariden has donated a cclle''tion of books to DePauw University’s’new student health service, Dr. George Parker announced today. The books include both fiction and non-fiction works for the pleasure of the patients in the infirmary. Sevral people have made it a practice to send the late magazines to the health service for the use of the students. Among those who have donated magazines are Dr. Clyde E. Wildman, Mrs. H. H. Brooks and Mrs. Vera S. Cooper. Buiy Christmas shoppers paused in their errands Saturday night as the Girl Scouts presented a program of Christmas music in group singing, instnimentals and vocal specialities from the court house steps. For forty minutes one Christmai selection after another filled the air. One hundred girls took part in the presentation. The group singing was led by Miss Margaret Voirol, a senior music student of DePauw University. The Chamber of Commerce cooperated with the Girl Scouts in securing tne loud speaker system which was used. The seven members of the Putnam County Council assembled in their usual room at the Court House, thiforenoon, to consider the application for the transfer of money now in a number of funds of the county troasuhy to other funds, to enable the county finance officers to complete the present year with clean slates. The three members of the Board ot Commissioners sat-in on the meeting, also, as one of the transfers asked affected their field of operations j particularly road work. The commissioners will soon meet to formulate their purchasing program for road supplies.

Delta Kappa Gamma Held Initiation Service Mrs. Ada Harris of Greencastle, former teacher and transcriber of Braille for the blind, and Miss Mabel Joseph, principal of the Fillmore schools, were initiated into Delta Kappa Gamma, honorary society for women teachers, at an impressive ceremony held Saturday evening in he Gobin Memorial church. At the dinner following the initiation, Mrs. Fred Ritchie, president of Epsilon chapter, presided. Dr. Lillian B. Brownfield, a state founder and former president of the local chapter gave a speech of welcome. Miss Joseph gave the response. The members then ajoumed to the lome of Reverend and Mrs. F. O. raley where Forest Goodenough, a senior in DePauw Music School, entertained with a piano recital. He chose compositions from Bnch, Jhopin, Debussy, and Ravel, then played two of his own compositions. Those present were Mis. Fred llchie, Mrs Cloyd Hall.
