Famed String Quartet Schedules Concert The Coolidge Qaurtet, one of the most outstanding chamber music groups in the country, will present

a concert at DePauw Tuesday night December 16, according to an announcement by Van Denman Thompson, Dean of DePauw Music School. Founded in 1936 this distinguished group is composed of William Kroll, first violin, Jack Pepper, second violin, David Dawson, viola, and Naoum Bemlitzky, ’cello. Campus Groups Sponsor Under the sponsorship of the Music School, Phi Mu Alpha and Mu Phi Epsilon, campus musical fraternities, and Kappa Tau Kappa, these four accomplished artists will bring the best in blended string ensemble work to the local campus. William Kroll, the first violinist, attended the Institute of Musical Art at New York City, where he graduated with highest honors and won the Loeb prize, given to outstanding young musicians. The second violinist, Jack Pepper, has studied at leading American schools including Eastman and Curtis Institute of Music and was i member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. David Dawson, viola, has been principal viola with the Minneapolis Symphony for the past two seasons. The fourth member, Naoum Benditzky, was born in Russia and mad 5 his first public appearance at the age of nine.
