CIRCUIT COURT NOTES The total amount of the settlemade by agreement in the age suits against Howard S. O.ck arising from the death of Ardilla Sewell in a collision at on. July 7, was $2,500, the atrney for the plaintiffs states, were filed by the administrnof the estate of Mrs. Sewell and

also by each of the two minor sons. A part only of the above amount appeals in the entry in the court docket. The defendant, Overpeck, also paid certain costs and expenses. In the jury trial of the State vs. Singleton, petit larceny, Saturday, the jury was discharged at 10:15 Saturday night without reaching an agreement. The case originated in Jefferson township.

Stoessel is attorney for the plaintiff. CITY POLICE NEWS Charles C. York, 19, GreencastlRoute 3, was arrested at 1 a. m. Sunday by city police on a charge of reckless driving. Katie Coffman was arrested Saturday night at 11 o'clock charged with public intoxication. She was fined $1 and costs in Squire R. H. Newgent’s court. A collision of two autos belonging to O. A. Day. of Fillmore, and Robert Montgomery, of New Richmond, occurred at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon on Northwood boulevard. Indiana State Police recovered the automobile owned by Roy Sutherlin, of Greencastle, which was stolen last week, and it has been returned to its owner.

Dean of Administration at DePauw, was elected president of the College Fraternity Secretaries Association for 1942 when that group closed its session in New York City Saturday. Dean Smith represented DePauw at the National Interfraternity Conference. For the last seven years he has been general secretary of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He served the Fraternity Secretaries Association as national secretary, and was also chairman of the undergraduate group in the National Fraternity at one time.
