( OI NTY FISHINO BEI.IEVKD AT APEX; REPORT LARGE CATCHES IN EEL RIVER Fishing, one of Putnam county s 1 most elastic sports, was believed at its peak this weekend after local anglers returned home to report the various sizes of their catches. Scores of residents lined the hanks of Eel River, the two Walnut creeks, Deer creek and Limestone creek with hobers reported unable to stay afloat. At this point in the story it might be well to remind the readers that all information contained herein has been reported and not witnessed by the writer. However, the best catch of the week goes to a Cloverdale resident who reports that he captured a sixteen pound carp in Eel river. Other best catches go to those who caught cat fish weighing over five pounds. This weekend’s suckers seemed to average about three pounds. As in the past foreign fisherrryn are believed getting their share cf the county’s fish. One person remarked that he counted twelve out-of-county cars parked with three i unty autos near one creek bank.

Roachdale holds the bird position in the National League, j Lone Star will battle Cloverdale Wednesday evening to maintain its 1.000 rank. According to reports the Clovers are settled after their serious defeat by Roachdale and are gunning for the Cementers this week; however, the Cloverdale outfit s urged by its fans to keep cool this
