Couple Honored At

Recent Shower

A miscellaneous shower was held Saturday, May 31 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Goode in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Goode, whose marriage took place on April l£th. The house was beautifully decorated in the briite’s colors of peach and blue. The many gifts were plaeI ed on a large table which was arranged under the chandelier decorat-

Nearly one hundned persons journeyed to Turkey Run State Park last Friday evening for one of the most enthusiastic meetings ever held by local Democrats. This meeting, sponsored by the Putnam County Women's Democratic Club was opened by Mrs. Roy Rrackney, president of the club, who welcomed the guests. Following the dinner Mrs. Brackney introduce i Mrs. Howard Batman of Ttrro Haute. Mrs. Lillie McFerrin, P-ti am county vice-chairman, and Carl Hurst, county chairman, Mr. j'l'rst then introduced Roy Etter. sixth district chairman, who in turn presented the Honorable Howard Batman state representative from Ti.rc Haute, who gave the main Address of the evening. Mr. Batman, in a most informative manner, ap-4ce on matters of national unity. Following his speech a group of snngr was presented by the Bain l l idge trio, composed of Miss Dorothy dressier, Miss Rosemarie Dickson, and Miss Lorene Ader, and accompanied by Miss Jean Etcheson.
