Mr. and Mrs. James Oliver II of South Bend will come Sunday to visit them and to attend the commencement exercises of LaFayette LeVan Porter, Jr. Miss Marlon Creenleaf, daughter "f Professor and Mrs. Herrick Greenh af of south College avenue, Greencastle, received word yesterday that she was the winner of last week’s Block’s Children’s Hour. She now survives with six or seven others from an original field of approximately 75 performers. She will appear again today in piano numbers before judges. Previous contests in the series have been on the basis of votes. The winner will receive a substantial reward. Mrs. Bertha Knoll, wife of Clarence H. Knoll, head of the bank at Poland, died Thursday evening at her home in Poland from the effects of apoplexy, at the age of 50 years. She was born in Cass township, Clay county, the daughter of Wm. Tapy. She is survived by the husband, two daughters, and her mother. Short funeral rerviees will he held at the residence Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, followed by the final services at the Zion church at Poland. Bev. Scherry and Rev. Huckereide will officiate.
