DEPAUW CHAPEL
Den Lush, famous Indiana athlete, and member of the 1936 United States Olympic team, spoke at DePauw chapel Thursday morning. His talk was centered around safety and his experiences as a state police officer. He also recounted some of his athletic experiences. Passing school buses, drunken driving, failing to dim lights and excessive speed were some of the causes of accidents which he discussed. “Drunken driving,” he said, "is stepping on somebody else’s,rights.'' In discussing athletics, Mr. Lash cautioned against too much stress being laid on athletics in educational institutions. He warned the chapel audience against the folly of going to college for athletics alone, and told of Indiana university's famou-
Coach Hays asking him the question, “I know you can run but how are you from the neck up ? ’ FILLMORE CHRISTIAN CHURCH
