Mr. and Mrs. Floris McCammack of Belle Union have returned to their hnme after spending several months in Texas.

Arthur McCammack, CoatesvlUe, Route 2, was admitted to the Putnam County hospital Tuesday morning for treatment.

Floyd W. Yochum of Berwyn, III. visited in the home of Ralph D. Clodfelter and family Dunday evening and Sunday night.

Mr. and Mrs. William Langdon of Cloverdale are the parents of a daughter bom Tuesday morning at the Putnam county hospital. Mrs. LaFayette LeVan Darter is in Indianapolis today and tomorrow to attend D. A. R. meetings. On Thursday she will be in Muncie. Last rites for Mrs. Roy Phillips who died Sunday, were held Tuesday afternoon from the Fillmore Christian church with burial in the Fillmore cemetery. Dr. and Mrs. T. A. Sigler spent the week-end in Chicago, where they attended the wedding anniversary celebration of Dr. and Mrs. Merilatt. H. P. Smith, of Lebanon, district sales manager for the Columbian Hog and Cattle Powder company, was here today visiting Clarence Vestal. Mrs. Kenneth Keller, formerly Helen Shields and a former resident of Greeneastle and Putnamville, is in the Methodist hospital at Indianapolis for treatment. Rev. F. C. Chandler will hold a two weeks revival meeting at the Stilesville Christian church beginning Sunday, March 23rd, and continuing until Saturday night, April 5th. The Lenten ‘ Spiritual Life" meeting of the Presbyterian Church will be held at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. The topic ’‘The Lamp of God'' with Mrs. V. L. Raphael as leader. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Akeis of this city are the parents of a son born Tuesday morning at the Putnam county hospital. Mr. Akers is vocational instructor in the Greeneastle High School. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Peck and son of Michigan City were here for the wedding of the former'4 brother, Kenneth Peck and Miriam Jane Hunter, which took place at the Gobin Methodist Church. Mrs. Edward R. Bartlett of Greencastle will speak at a combined meeting of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Unity Methodist and the Riverside Park Methodist Church at 7:30 o'clock Wednesday night in the Riverside chu ch iTi Indianapolis. Hill, a resident of Carp who has friends in south Putnam county, was injured in a collision of automobiles on state road 43, five miles north of Spencer. Sunday night. Mrs. Hill and her husband and daughter and a friend were drlv ing to Spencer to visit. Mn. Hill was cut about the face and head.

Miss Miriam Jane Hunter, daughter of Mrs. Ralph Hunter of Cloverdale, became the bride of Henry Kenneth Peck Jr., son <>f Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Peck, east Hanna street, in a simple, yet impressive ceremony solemnized Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock in the Gobin Memorial Methodist Church in the presence of relatives and friends. The church was beautifully decorated with large baskets of white gladioli, white snapdragons, white stock and white candelabra. Officiating at the pretty rite was Dr. L. R. Eckardt of the DePauw faculty, assisted by the Rev. Claude M. McClure. Preceding and during the ceremony organ music was played bv Miss Louise Utterback, assistant of Dr. Van Denman Thompson, Dean of the DePauw School of Music.

legion Auxiliary Held Called Meeting

American Legion Auxiliary Putnam County Unit No. 58 held a called meeting Monday evening with the president, Mrs. Jonnie Thomas, presiding. During the short business session the Legion extended an invitation to the Auxiliary members and their families to attend it’s 22nd anniversary party on Saturday, March 22nd. There will be a pitch-in-dinner at 6:30 o'clock and members are asked to bring their own table service. The president appointed Jane Pierce, Naomi McCurry, Bessie Green and Mildred Rush. Electa Brown, Rachael Buis and Clara Edwards on a committee to assist in the dining room. Tile Legion is planning an interesting program and it is hoped that there wilV be a large attendance. INDIANAPOLIS, March 18—(UP) -Indiana today wns called upon to furnish 6,900 men for selective service during April, the largest number yet demanded of the Hoosler

state.
