Japan Angry Over Freezing Of Funds

TOKYO. March 8—(UP)—The Japanese jiress today termed the reported freezing of Indo-Chinese funds in America by the United States governin' at as ‘outrageous" and implied that Japan might take action regarding the incident. Nichi Nichi. commenting on reports from Hanoi that the United States had decided to freeze Indochina bank funds, said: “Japan cannot ignore such outrageous action aiming to restrain Indo-China at the last stage of the peace parley (with Thailand).’’ Yomluri’s headline over the dispatch dealing with the report wag: "Evil Hand Obstructing Japanese-Indo-Chinese Co-operation.’’

Superintendent Irons' remarks brought forth considerable discu sion from the floor. Following this session the delegates went to assigned sections for panel discussions. Five such groups were designated: Natural Science, language and Literature; Fine Arts, Social Science, and Personel. Dr. Earl Bowman, professor of Education at DePauw, acted as local chairman for the conference while Dr Russell Cooper of Corneh College arranged the conference for the North Central Association. Principal speaker for Saturday s sessions was Dr Stephen M. Corey of Chicago University. The conference closed Saturday afternoon with summary reports fioni the fivo sectional group meetings. Ten such conferences are being held in the United States and a study will b based on the findings in these con ferences. according to Dr. Cooper.

He moved all his equipment on the job and get well started. when the sheriff and a representative of the state gross income tax department moved In, seized his equipment and materials and now work is at a standstill as a guaid Lorn the sheriff's office is on duty to see that nothing ne seized disappears. It is claimed that Beggs owes the state close to $3,000 gross income tax and unless he settles, his equipment will be sold to the highest bidder to pay the tax and in the meantime the addition to the federal building will be heid up. Beggs was driving an automobile belonging to his wife at the time the sheriff town his action, otherwise he might have had to walk home.
