Columbus Bows To Rampaging Cubs By Score Of 4G To 34 Last Night

With York ond Hammond showing the way, Greencastle’s Tiger Cubs concluded their regular basketball season last night down at Columbus by turning in an impressive 40 to 34 victory over the Bulldogs, rated by many the outstanding high school earn in the state. The local netters led 21 to 16 at the half and maintained their advantage throughout the final stage of the game. Only a handful of Greencastle fans witnessed the con‘est but they left the Columbus gym of the opinion that when the Tiger Cubs really wanted to play ball there is not a quintet n Hoosierdom that they could not give a real race on the

bardwood court.

Last night's win also proves that Greencastle's 33 to 32 setback handed the highly-touted Washington Hatchets was no fluke. Coach Chet Elson apparently has his Purple and Gray drapery agitators worked up to the peak of performance for the sectional tourney which gets underway here next Thursday evening. Columbus, champions of the South Central Conference, is certainly no push-over and the local boys deserve a world of credit for defeating the classy, scrapping Bulldogs. It was the
