IN MEMORY

In loving memory of our dear husband and father, John L. Williamson, who passed away Jan. 30th, 1939. As I loved you, so I miss you, In my heart you are always there; Loved, remembered, longed for, always Brings many a silent tear. We often stt and think of you, And speak of how you died; To think you could not say good-bye, B» fore you closed your eyes; ‘•'or you were ours, and, we remember, though all the world may forget. Sadly missed by wife and children.

Display Ponds at ItiverNlde Hatchery Nearly two hundred thousand Hooaler anglers and members of their families visited the seven major state fish hatchet ies during 1940, it was announced today by Frank N. Wallace, acting commissioner of the Department of Conservation. This attendance, compiled from daily reports of the hatchery superintendents, is nearly double the mini tier of visitors in 1939. Recognizing the interest of anglers and others in the propagation of game fish to be used In stocking Indiana lakes and streams, special facilities nave been established for visitors at most of the ..atcheries. Picnic tables were in use during the past year at the Avoca, Riverside and Fawn RivA- hatcheries and will be placed for use this summer at TriLakes and Bass Lake hatcheries. Ma-

jor development of picnic facilities has been at the Avoca Hatchery where a shelter house, ovens and trails have been completed. Display ponds in which different species of gam? and predatory fish are exhibited are a popular attraction at Riverside and Wawasee hatcheries. These ponds are shallow and permit a close inspection of the fish displayed. Display ponds are under construction at the Fawn River State Fish Hatchery, located near Orland. northwest of Angola. The Fawn River hatchery when completed, will have the largest water area for game fish propagation of any of the state hatcheries. All the state hatcheries are open to visitors and the attendants welcome an opportunity to discuss the propagation of game fish which are placed in lakes and streams to maintain Indiana’s fine fishing.
