TO CONTEST RECOUNT (Continued from I’nice One) lots which did not have on them thi initials of the election clerks in the precincts in which they had been cast and an agitation was started to have these ballots included in the recount, it being claimed they were legal, being absent voters’ ballots and not voted locally. The court ordered them included in the count, and a result of that action, the lead of 13 held by Vaughn, Republican, ovei Rice was wiped out and Rice was given a small majority, he ultimately being declared elected. Mr. Rice is now filling the office. However, counting of these absent voters’ ballots increased the lead of Spencer, Republican, now in office, over Eiteljorge from 18 to 37.
