■ C/boefej^A, —'i j O. B. Pit. OS. prepared for Vour Newspaper by Betty Crocker Home Service Department "SUGAR AND SPICE AND OTHER THINGS NICE" The other day I gave a recipe in this column for a chocolate and pink and white marble cake. This recipe always brings in ream that other old-time marble cake that is made with spices. And our Black Hills Cake is that kind of a cake. To begin with, there is mohuses in the spice part . . . which makes it much more delicious . . . and then there are tiny flecks of golden orange rind . . . like the golden nuggets hidden in the Black Hills of South Dakota. WHY BLACK HILLS When you see the cake you can understand how it eamo by this picturesque name . . . for you have dark hills and peaks silli d against the white part of the cake . . . just as the dark peak .1 the Black Hills stand out against a white noonday sky. Here is th* recipe: BLACK HILLS CAKE
