I'i iemlly Circle Held Halloween Party The Friendly Circle Club held a Halloween party Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. W’illiam Pitts with eighteen present. The house was decorated with leaves, fodder and pumpkins. All the members and their husbands came masked. The evening was spent in contests. Refieshments of sandwiches, pie and cider were served.

Women's Ia»ague Met Wednesday

The October meeting of the Women’s League was held at the Gobin Memorial Church on Wednesday afternoon. The singing of the hymns at the opening was lead by Mrs. J. E. Porter, accompanied by Mrs. Gerhard Baerg. Mrs. Edwin B. Nichols had charge of the devotions Mrs. T. G. Yuncker. chairman of the budget committee presented the budget for the year, and Mrs. Ray Herbert, chairman of the kitchen committee gave a report of that committee. Reports were given by the Section Leaders, and section 9 announced a j rummage sale on October 28th, and Section 2 will hold one on Nov •mber 24th. Mrs. F. W. Hixson, chairman of the program rommittee, presented Demetrius Tillotson who gave two very delightful readings, one from Mark Twain's “Innocents Abroad”, and the “Sicilian’s Tale” from Longfellow’s "Tales of a Wayride Inn.” Mrs. Laurence Ste'lings and Mis. S. R. Rariden with the use of some beautiful antique furniture, had transformed the Community Hall platform into an old fashioned parlor, which was a delightful setting for Dr. Tillotson's readings.
