And remember this — Chevrolet's 85-h.p. valve-in-head engine excels in performance as well as economy. r | THOUSANDS of motorists have subjected 1939 Chevrolets to the X Mileage Meter test. In cars with gauges feeding a measured quantity of fuel to the engine, these thousands have seen how the 1939 Chevrolet stretches out each gallon of fuel to make it go farther—extra

What about oil? The fact is that the 1939 Chevrolet is unbelievably economical of oil—because the oil slays in the engine. As to upkeep and tires—every motorist knows of Chevrolet’s traditional record for low cost of maintenance. See your Chevrolet dealer today! Take the wheel and lenrn of Chevrolet’s remarkable economy.

Before the largest crowd that has attended the soft ball games this season, the Russellville ball club trounced the Lone Star team in an 18-6 game last night at Robe Ann Park and in the second game George Taylor was the star with his terrific fast ball, even though his team did lose to the Bainbridge ten. The Russellville victory came as somewhat of a surprise and up-se!; all pre-game dope. Between the games the GreencasUe High School summer band rendered several selections at the bandstand to the southwest of the field. Several hundred gathered to hear the band which is made up of sixty-five players. Their program contained several marches and overtures and selections from the opera Martha. The concert had a largo attendance because of the games and the games had many spectators who were attracted by the band concert. The result was that approximately seven hundred people attended Robe Ann Park last night for both amusements. The Lone Star’s jumped into a 4-1 lead in tse 2nd inning on 5 straight singles but were unable to compete with the slugging Russellville team from that point on. Russellville scored 6 runs in the 3rd. 4 in the 6th and 7 in the 7th to make a grand total of 18. Lone Star’s scored their last 2 runs in the 5th on a homer by J. Hill, a triple by Green and a single by C Pitts. Bird of Russellville led his team at bat with 2 homers and a triple in 4 times up. W. Grimes and Hovermale each collected a double for the only other extra base hits. Score by innings: R H E R’lville 0 1 6 0 0 4 7—18 13 2 Lone Star 0 4 0 0 2 0 0 - 6 10 3 Batteries—Allen, W. The winning runs came in the 1st of the 7th, when Bainbridge scored 4 runs on 3 errors, 2 walks and an infield hit. Lear collected 2 doubles and Jr. Grimes also drove out a two-bsggor for the only other extra base hits. T.
