The death of Albert Payne, formerly an attorney of Brazil who practiced in both Clay and Putnam counties, occurred July 4 at Los Angeles, Calif., where he had been living since 1914. He and his brother, Scott Payne, formed a partnership in the practice of law. Scott Payne died a number of years ago.

Neal Kendall, living on the east Washington street road, is a forrr.i r resident of Morehead, Ky., which was hit by the flood of last week. Many of his relatives are residing there a' present and so far as he has been able to learn, all escaped. He reported some of his relatives leaving a house just ahead of a 20 foot wall of water that demolished everything that was ahead of it.
