The 4-H girls of Cloverdale entertained their mothers Wednesday afternoon at the high school building with a very clever program which included tap dancing by Janet Murphy and Edith Finney. Norma Jean Zigleman played a trumpet solo. Kitchen Rand was directed by Dorothy Finney with her 12 swing girls. Refreshments of ice tea, cookies nnd 1 candy were served. Mrs. Grace Sacked, Mrs. Vesta Walker and Mrs. LaVone Goodacre of Cloverdale were in Indianapolis Friday. Arthur Jones is reported to he ill. Alton Hurst was in Cloverdale Wednesday enroute to Gosport on a business trip. Farmers in the district cast of Cloverdale will soon have electric’ lights. A number of farmers have already signed for complete wiring of their homes. Edward McAvoy is reported to he very ill. Lee R. Herbert attended the pasture improvement demonstration at the Boesen dairy farm south of Greencastle Friday afternoon. Velma Routt called on friends at Cunot Monday. Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Mondy of Cloverdale were held Saturday morning from the Reed funeral home. Interment was in the Cloverdale cemetery. Billie Beck, Jimmie Hurst and Vernon Mann returned Saturday after a weeks vacation at the state fair grounds, sponsored by the American Legion. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Staley spent Saturday in Crawfordsville. Mrs. Merle Holiday of Detroit, visited at the Glenn A Render home for three days. Mrs. Minnich of Harmony is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Furr. Mrs. Ernie Query returned Wednesday after a week’s visit, with her daughter, Mrs. Harold Coons in Indianapolis.
