in the Greencastle High School vocational rooms, in whicli students from high schools outside of the county with the exception of thos attending the Greencastle Consolidated Schools participated. The contest was limited this year to typing, and the entrants were of two classes -the beginning, which included all of the first year students in the contest, and the advance! class, including all of the second or third year. The contest was und r the general charge of Elmo Houston, commercial teacher of the Russellville high school and the commercial teachers of th' Central Normal College at Danville conducted the tests and graded the work of the- contestants. The grading | was on speed and accuracy. The representatives from the schools of the county were grouped into t, a ms from , each school when possible and the teams were graded as well as the Individuals. Entrants were in the contest from Bainbridge, Belle Union. . Clov rdale, Fillmore, Roachdale, Russellville and Reesville. The highest grade of an advanced student was 61 4 per cent, accredited

to Veda Rose Ray, Cloverdale, who received a $50 scholarship from the Central Normal Coll ge. The highest grade of a beginning student was that of Wilma Hurst, Belle Union, who received a fountain pen set presented by Sam Hanna of Greencas-

tle.

The highest rating of a school as a group in the advanced class was that of Cloverdale. The highest school of the beginning class was Belle I Union.
