I’KOTECT YOCU HOME EKOM ( Tt BEKCl LOSIS IS SLOtiAN I “Protect your home from Tuberculosis” will be the .slogan of the HKIS Christmas Seal campaign, Frank Sloes 1 of the Putnam C< un y Tutierculosis Association announced to1 djy. ! The d< sign of the seal suggests the slogan. A mother and two young ch Id■ ■ n in costume of the Victorian age are shown lighting a candle m the window of their home. The light1 ed candle is indicative of til enlight- | ening on tuberculosis that has been kindh d by the Christmas seals 'ami of their mission of protecting every home from the dread disease. Tuberculosis breaks up more homes than any other dis ase. If a mother or father is stricken, this ! means separation from the family | if other members ore to be protected ! from the threat of the disease. Tuberculosis usually brings a serious j economic problem. Each year tuberculosis claims the lives of 40.000 persons between 15 and 45. the most ! productive years. Many of these victims are mothers and fathers who leave young orpbincd chiMt'on *o face life alone. Christmas seals finance a year-round program to control tuberculosis and by so doing, protect all homes from tuberculosis. The sale s'nrted Thanksgiving Diy and will continue until Christmas. ! ! LARGE CROWD WAS ON HAND AT BOWMAN GYM FOR THE OPENING GAME
Two ball teams with a sense of humor brawled and battled last night as DePauw university opened its hirdwood season with a 55-‘.'5 victory over Rose Poly. Nineteen men just one short of the entire squad saw action. Ineligibility kept one man on the bench. In floor ploy and accuracy the Tigers held a club over the visitors from the beginning. Rose Poly was held to a single bucket in the first half. The score at half-time was 29-4, DePauw. Early-season raggedness sprouted in every comer; both outfits were

charged with bad passes, double dribh’es ind traveling. Two officials, Stonebreaker and Wheeler—also with a sense of humor, managed to keep the tilt under control. Coach Moffett started KixMiller; and Landeck, forwards; Franke center: Lindsay and Smith, guards. KixMiller drew three fouls in succession after the tip-off and Smith scored under the basket for DePauw before Colwell, hefty Rose Pody center, snagged the visitor’s only field goal of the first hadf.
