The Fillmore Service Club met with Mis. Grace Wright near Floyd Centei Nov 15 Response to roll call by the nine members present was a Thanksgiving verse. All enjoyed a bountiful pitch-in dinner. The work for the day was making a comfort. The meeting was called to order at 2 o’clock. The following offiei rs were elected: Mrs. Della Smyth, president; Mrs. Huldah Wright, vice president; Mrs. Katie Bastin. secretary; Mrs. Emma Morgan. treasurer. Plans were completed for the annual dinner for the members and their families, which will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Phillips on the evening of Dec. 21. There will be an exchange of gifts. The Neighborhood Club met Satuidny night with Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hiavin and three sons with a pitchIn supper All members except Mr. and Mis Paul Salmon and daughter were present. Names were drawn for the Christmas gifts for the Christmas tree at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Heavin. The revival closed Sunday evening at the Christian church with two additions. a large crowd attended the home coming Sunday with a large number of out of town people attending. Mrs. Mattie Oliver entertained her chib icn at dinner Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kagan and their gtlcsts, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pruitt and two children Mr. and Mrs. William Oliver. Misses Kate and Mary Oliver. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown attended the funeral of Mrs. Charles Brown at Bi ick Chapel Sunday afternoon. They were neighbors In their earlier day:!. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ragan hail as house guests last week, their children. Miss Jean Ragan, Charleston, III., and Robert Ragan, Port Edward, Wis., and the former’s sisters Misses Edith anti Nellie Ragan also of Charleston, 111. Miss Mollie Barber of Middletown was here Sunday for the home coming at the Christian church. She is spending a few days with Mrs. John Carroll and calling on other old frientls here. Miss Barber resided here a number of years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Brumley and daughter Mrs. Edith Crawley of Greencastle spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shuck. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brown of Clermont spent Sunday and Monday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Brown, who have been occupying the Dallas Ruark house in the south part of town moved to Indianapolis where they are employed. Maynard Buis and family moved from the Carroll property in the west part of town to the Ruark property. Lois Proctor and family from near Bainbrldge moved to the Carroll property. All houses in town are occupied. Mrs. Ellen Hanks who spent a few days with her daughter, Mrs. Paul Heaney in Greencastle returned home Saturday. Friends here of Mrs. L. C. Ford of Jeffersontown. Ky., are advised that she is very ill. having un iergone two operations within tha last two months, and TTas been placed in an infirmary. Mrs. Ford and her husband hail rooms with Miss Maud Arnold a few years ago while he was engaged in buying timber. Mesdames O. N. Hicks and Kenneth Hicks attended the funeral Tuesday afternoon of little Shirley Ann Higgins at Coatesville. Site was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Higgins, who were former residents here.

Mrs. Marie Burckhalter Manslaughter charge was filed against Mrs. Marie Burckhalter, 44, above, in connection with the "suicide” death of her husband, Eugene, 46, near White Plains, N. Y., in an alleged suicide in which the wife assisted her husband in making plans to die. While authorities investigated the strange case, Mrs. Burckhalter was held in $10,000 bond.
