The Oxford Fellowship Gospel team of DePauw enjoyed a steak roast in the kitchen of the Brick Chapel church last Wednesday evening after which Rev. R. T. Mrs. Fred Johns returned home from the county hospital last Friday much improved. Claude Cantonwine and family drove to Terre Haute Sunday afternoon to visit his uncle, Hugo Mann, who is seriously sick, he has dropsy. Farmers are very busy sewing oats and getting the ground ready for corn planting. Allen Bain and Frank Johnson have purchased a grocery store in Cloverdale and will move there in the near future. Mrs. Edmon Marshall surprised iter family by coming home Sunday afternoon. She was taken to the county hospital February 2.’!. She is somewhat improved. Robert Dillinger and family of Indianapolis attended the worship at Long Branch Sunday morning then spent the afternoon with his brother, Carey and family of Brunerstown. Morris Evens who is attending school at Purdue visited his mother Sunday.
Judge Approves Whipping AUBURN, Ind. (UP) An assault and battery charge, brought against a local teacher by the parents of a hoy he had strapped, was dismissed by Judge William P. Endieott, who declared: "I am in favor of punishing children in school, and if there were more of it 1 would have less trouble in court.”
