SUIT FOK HEAVY DAMAGES In a suit transferred to the Putnam circuit court from Hendricks county, Frances Phillips is plaintiff i against Horace Daum and Doris Daum. of Plainfield, for $15,000 damages resulting from injuries received oy the plaintiff, east of Plainfield. She is the wife of Ben H. Phillips. The complaint alleges that she and her husband were riding in an automobile which at 9:110 at night collided with a cable stretched tightly across the National road from a truck operated by Daum to an automobile on the opposite side of that highway. In the impact, Mrs. Phillips was thrown into the windshield, breaking the glass and causing cuts on her' head, br eaking one tooth, injuring her neck and legs, leaving her in a permanently crippled condition, she says. The truck was being used in an effort to get the automobile out of a ditch. Khe alleges no warning signal lad been put out. that the truck was parked on the pavement, and at an angle, all contrary to the law. FA KM MEETINGS THIS WEEK Meetings of the conservation committee in townships arranged for this week include two on Jan. 27, one
at Cloverdale high school for Cloverdale township, and the other at Floyd Center for Floyd township. On Jan. 28, Franklin and Jackson townships will meet at Roachdalc.

With the score tied at 26-all, free throws by Myron King and LeRoy Johnson gave the local netters the two-point margin in the extra session. The score was knotted at 10-all at the half and both teams displayed plenty of fight and ability from the opening whistle to the final gun.
