of th(*se circus funsters cavorting about the hippodrome track in their mirth provoking antics. Heading this contingent of -•stars” (for clowns arc often classified as such) is none othci than -•Humpsy" Anthony, late star of the Billy Rosimusical production “Jumbo” and to “Bunipsy” goes the distinction of being the only circus clown engaged by the impresario for this spectacle. “I love to work as a clown, and even when I ran away from home and joined a small tent show as coin edian I got a great kick out of mak ing the audience laugh. Rut in a production like "Jumbo” and with uch name stars as Paul Whiteman. Donald Novis, Gloria Stuart and Victor Moore, some 150 people on the stage in many of the scenes my work with Jimmy Durante proved that the public likes comedy and even though it is often faked into the script they enjoyed the efforts of myself anil Dr. Durante. "But I love the circus since the circus has been my life for many years and will continue to be my life until 1 am too old to get around as agile anil spry as I do now and when the circus bands blare forth their martial melodies, the rumbling red wagons csound through the stillness of the • lawn and the clatter of horses hoofs igainst the pavement, the billowing canvas anil the roaring of the lions, that is no othei type of amusement that I long to be associated with than vith the circus.”
