HAVE PIANO REFIT A I, Robert Smith Teaching Fellow In Organ at the DePauw School of Music, gave a piano recital Tuesday evening in Meharry Hall. His program included works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms. Chopin, Duhussy and Dohnanyi. The audience, though small, was most appreciative, and demonstrated its enthusiasm with considerable applause. Among the most effective numbers on Mr. Smith’s pro-

grum wius the Bach Prelude and Fugue; especially the Fugue was played with fine clarity and mnsicianly regard for its musical content. The Debussy Prelude was an extraordinarily fine piece of tonal coloring. The Brahms and Chopin were done in good style and the selection from Dohnanyi’s Ruralla Hungarica n-reived the requisih dynamic and rhythmic coloring to close the program brilliantly.
