SUPPLY OF MOST DEADLY EXPLOSIVE KNOWN IS STOLEN BRIDGEPORT. Conn . Oct. 4, 'UP> — Revelation that intruders entered

two powder magazines at the Remington Arms Company at the time a large supply of super-sensitive explosive, polnol, was stolen early Tuesday, spurred search today for a man whose identity is known to police. The man was seen in the vicinity of the reservation for several days before the theft. Polnol, Remington officials said, is the most deadly explosive known and must be handled in rubber lined containers. The slightest jar would cause a detonation. Authorities announced two underground magazines had been entered and an attempt made to break into a third.

GAS

GOES

UP AM) DOWN

After the price of gasoline had jumped from 12.9 cents a gallon to 18.3 cents, twice in the past two days, dealers at Pleasant Gardens Wednesday night were selling their i regular gasoline at 12.9 cents. It was said the jumping back and j forth was caused by promises of Brazil gasoline distributors to raise their price from 12.9 cents to 18.3 cents. Acting upon these promises dealers at Pleasant’ Gardens twice changed their price to 18 3 cents only to learn that the price in Brazil still was 12.9 cents. Eacli time they learned they had been fooled the Pleasant Garden dealers again dropped their price. One dealer at Pleasant Gardens : saiil Wednesday night that every distributor there had filled all available tanks with the lower price gasoline ami will continue to sell it at 12.9 cents until his present supply is ex- j hausted.
