BRAZIL, Ind., Aug. .'1 Lawrence E- Jackson, operator of a garage and repair shop on West Jackson street, is in a serious condition as a result of being bitten by a < pporhead snake while hunting squirrels along Eel river, southeast of the city. Jackson ha,! parked his car and then walked about thu* miles through
the river bottoms. He had taken off his shoes in order that he might sneak up on a squirrel, when a copperhead snake sunk its fangs in his left foot just above the big toe. Realizing that the copperhead is very poisonous, he sat down and at temp'e I to suck the poison out of the wound, hut the wound soon began to swell and he suffered intense pain as the swelling rose on the leg. He walked back to his car, came to town an wa- taken to the, office of Dr. Fred Xus . I, who administered an antidote- By the time Jackson reached town the swelling had reached above the knee, almost to the thigh., and he was suffering much agony from the poison.

BLUE REUNION The fourth annual reunion of the family of Henry C- and Nancy J. Blue was held in the beech grove of Mrs. Frank Scott near Belle Union, Sunday, July 29th. At the noon hour a bountiful dinner was enjoyed by forty-eight relatives.
