l<eep sludge out —save oil

ft is time to change to a heavier grade of — motor oM. And vvhon you change, rememl»cr this: I he greatest cause of high oil consumption in automobile engines in slwlf*r— sludge that fouls fillers, makes valves sluggish so you lose gasoline power and mileage, and

causes rings to stick ami pump oil.

Also remember this: You can keep sludge out of your motor by using Iso*\ is "|)*\ the antisludge motor oil. Because it docs not sludge, Iso.-Vis "D" keeps rings lively and free, reducing oil consumption to the minimum. That's why Iso:\ is "I)” users use less oil — add fewer quarts between drains. It's tin* most econom-

ical, fine lubrication you can buy. ISO VIS "D" . .

FAYMENTS OF APRIL INCOME TAX URGED Paytnvent of gross income tax in April, regardless of the amount of tax owe 1, was urged upon members of all civic clubs in Indiana in letters mailed today hy Clarence Jackson, director of the state gross income tax division. 'ITie messages, which were sent to club secretaries with the request that they he read at meetings, pointed out that money paid in gross) income tax in April will be available for distribution to schools July 1, and can 1** used for payment of teachers’ salares next fall. The July distributions will be made from the combined tax collections of January arid! April. Payments made next July and later, Mr. Jackson said, can not be distributed to the schools until next year, the di -tribution dates prescribed hy law being July ami January 1. ‘'The state is again a king all citizens to pay i» April, even though they ■iwe loss thiui the legal minimum of $10 tax,” the letter tales. “The next distribution of gro income tax monies is made July 1. This will include money from the January and April collections. These monies will lie available to help pay teachers 1 salaries next fail. Collect ions received in July and October can not 1«' distributed until 1!>30. It will thus lx’ seen that all citizens hav< an opportunity not to help their ehools but also to help themselves. It i much easier to pa\ four small in tailments than tl wait until next January and pay otis large one.’’

NO MORE LOANS TO BE M \0K TO DEFAULTING NUIONS WASHINGTON. April 5. (UP) - War minded European nations were under notice today from the American congress that they will he able to borrow no money here for future wars until they pay what they borrowed to fight the last one. This, high administration officials believe, will be the significant effect of the Johnson bill, now being engrossed for Pn ident Roosevelt’s signature. The bill prohibit- any per on in the United States from purchasing or selling bonds, securities or other obligations of any foreign government or political subdivi i<>n thereof, is-ued after the bill becomes effective, while such government or political subdivision is in default on any debt ow l tho Uni teal States government. The bill does not affect private borrowing Nuither does it affect nations whose governments are in do fault on debts to private individuals.
