PlayinR with a shifted lineup. Greencastle's 1'i sr er Cubs took the measure of their old rivals, the Orawforrisville hiyh -chool basketha’I team for the second time this season. 24 to 20. in the Wabash collefre gym Friday night- The up-Monon squad led l ’> to 11 at the half but the locale came hack in the third quarter to forge into a 19 to 14 lead and were nevier in great danger during the final frame.
OOO
Maiaska. Athenian ace, was high point man for his team with :t baskets and a free toss, a total of 7 points. Maiaska. we are toid. has been averaging about l.'l points per game, so it appiiears as though the Cubs slopped the Crawfordsville ’hot shot” fairly well at least.
OOO
Honestly, every time Maiaska got the ball we shuddered. That hoy's got IT or whatever it takes to make a field goal. He has a keen pair of optics

The Athenians collected K field goals to 7 for the locals Only one of the Athenian buckets was a close in shot which speaks well for the Greencastle defen e.
OOO
Ken Rush of the Journal-Review told us that Crawfordsville in the first half looked the hottest he had seen them this year. We agreed with him that they were torrid all right, snagging 5 taskets from out on the floor in about 8 or 10 efforts.
OOO
A' no time during the tilt did Coach Edmonson have his regular first team in action. By that we mean. Hammond. Campbell, McAnally. Hurst and Godfrey were not on the floor at the same time. “Eddie'' started Cox and Knauer in place of Hurst and Campbell. Both of the former named boys turned in some nifty work. Maiaska. Athenian ace, was able to snag only one basket while Knauer was guarding him. Knauer also registered the first points of the battle. Cox displayed a good floor game and incidentally counted 2 fielder and a point from the charity stripe
OOO
We hope they clean up the Wabash gym before reg'ional tournament time. The bleachers, the press box. the floor and dressing rooms were certainly dirty last night. A number of both sexes, were heard complaining about their coats.
OOO
And those lines, which are only fain' marks on the floor, used in high school games should be painted so that they can be ,-een by tourney time Any team would have the right to report this condition to Czar Tie ter of the IHSA A.
OOO
At times, we have thought Greencastle showed poor sportsmanship to r visiting team and their fans but ourj cheering section is a credit to what i we heard up at Crawfordsville. The
held all to 9 advantage at the half hut the visitors braces) during the final part of the tilt and won Brand was the main cog in N'ew- Market's : victory while (Tunes kept Reachdale ! in the running - .

these handsome HONOR MEDALS
. t AVE you wondered recently what is causing your 11 newspaper bin to hring your newspaper so puncluall>, to he so courteous in manner, so neat in his personal up* pearance, and so business-like when he ealls to colled each week? Merc's the reason! lie’s trying to win sonic of the beautiful I lonor Medals offered by '' l he .Newspaper UXn v of America” to carrier-salesmen for proficiency in their duties, as well as for good conduct. He is more polite because he’s working for the (X)IJRTKSX Medal. Me delivers your paper on time every day. because he’s trying for the I'l N( M l M l I X Medal. Me is neater in appearance because he is out to win a medal for PERSONAL APPEARANCE. Me is more anxious to save his paper money, because he's competing for the THR1E I Medal. And so on! There are fourteen of these fine I lonor Medals, which he is trying to win. one after the other. And, in winning them, he is learning many practical lessons in characterbuilding and business-training, which w ill be of immense value to him as he grows up. Ask your newspaper boy how many of the N.B.A. Honor Medals he has won, or which ones he is now trying to earn. Get him to show them to you, and you'll see how handsome they are. Encourage him to keep at it until he has earned the complete set of fourteen, including the lOO'o Medal for distinguished service as a newspapci boy. You’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve helped a worthy boy "make good", and he’ll be anxious to give you perfect newspaper service day in and dat out.
