The seventoen months old baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Farl Sutherlin, of near Groveland. is recovering nicely from the scalp wound and i.ther injuries rceeix'e I when her father backed his automobile from tic garage and struck her. F'DRMFR RESIDENT DIES George Smythe, age 84, died at his home at North Salem Tuesday morning, after a lingering illness of two years. The deceased was horn in Putnam county in 1848 and is the last of a large pioneer family of that (ommunity. He wa., united in tnurriageto Sarah Culbertson and to thi, union was born two children, Rosco 1 , of Roachdale, and R. y of New Mays* ville. In 1A12 he married Mrs. Alice Lumpkins of North Salem, and has 1 lived here since. Mr. Smythe was ' u constant and devoted member of j lire Methodist church of North Salem, and before his death he made j all arrangements for his funeral that was held there Wednesday afternoon, with interment in the New Mayaville cemetery.
