Purnell Speaks At Postal Pienie
SIXTH DISTRICT OUTING TO BE HELD IN GREENCASTLE NEXT YEAR TURKEY RUN STATE PARK, Indiana, Aug. 8—-Representative in Congress Fred S. Purnell told postal employes of the Sixth district at their first annual picnic here Sunday that the depression has setved to steady citizens and make them appreciate living in America. Mr. Purnell declared that the few criticisms regarding postal employes was a tribute to their faithfulness. More than two thousand persons heard the address, given after a picnic dinner. Prizes were awarded to the oldest and youngest persons in the various branche- of the postal service. Postmasters of the district at a short business session .elected the first Wednesday in October as the date for the next meeting of the association, to he held at Greencastle. Charles Wheeler. Noble.-ville, president of the association, introduced Mr Purnell, E. R. Bartley. Greencastle postmaster, awarded prizes. Other postmasters on the committee in charge of the program were Fred Spray., Lebanon; 0. T. Kercheval, Sheridan; Brewer Hadley, Danville; J. B. Johnson, Plainfield; John Wood. Terre Haute. The eleventh reunion of the Hutche son family wa; held in the grove of T. B Hut he- , n '.Tr Hamrick Station, Sunday, August 7. A bountiful dinner was seived at noon. About no people were present. A men's quartet from Kawnan church ptoviled several selection-. An address was given by Mr. Hof mark from Indianapolis. Officers elected for the coming year were: Dr. W. R Hutcheson, president; Mr- Charles Hut heson secretar, anil treasurer; Mrs. Walter King and Mr Merle Hutcheson, pro gram committee. The meeting will be held next year, the first Sunday in August, at the
same plate.

Reuben Masten, Belle Union, were speakers Sunday at a homecoming of the Clin- • n F.ill M P. lurch. Rev. William M Keehan, pa-ior of the church, presided and had charge of the program. During the day the speakers all gave splendid talks before the large crowd. Dr Sigler especially giving an intere-ting talk on the history of the church which was founded duiing the Civil war by a group of people seeking a common meeting place. The Current attitude toward religion and the fine spirit of the Clinton Falls community also were touched upon by this speaker.
