This full-fledged railroad, called road, links Belfast, which is on the Penob-oot, with the Maine Central railroad at Burnham Junction—a distance of .34 miles. The Cincinnati and- Southern is believed to he the only other city-own-ed railroad in the country. The local road w-as started in the middle of the last century, with visions of a great seaport here and a railroad to Quebec.
