LOCAL TEAM WINS TWO <, Creencastle Merchants ball club defeated the Lebanon Indians Sunday fcy a score of 8 to 7. The feature of the game was a home run by I^ar and a double by Art Hanneman- < The work of M- Black, pitcher, and H Stone was unbeatable. The entire team played bang up ball. I The Merchants took a trip July 4 to Twelve Points and left the Pointers on the short end of a 14 to f> score. Jhis game also was featured by a home run by Hanneman. The latest victim of the kidnaping racket, Haskell Bohn, 20-year-old son of a wealthy St. Paul, Minn., manufacturer, is held for $35,000 ransom by a gang who abducted the young man as he was about to step into an automobile in which the family chauffeur was already seated. Fillmore’s fast stepping semi-pro baseball team defeated Bainbridge, 11 to 7 in an interesting matinee staged at Fillmore Monday afternoon. Features of the contest were i home run by Stewart, of the winner and the pitching of Gaddy, who stnuk out 14 Bainbridge batsmen. Batteries for the game were Gaddy and Budish for Fillmore, and Nelson, Strickler and Wright for Bainbridge.
