They sawed out an iron bar on the second floor and escaped through the narrow 20inch opening. Katon told police one of the men pointed a revolver at them, titok the liquor, broke the jug and relieved Katon of his revolver. In the sduffle Katon was struck with a revolver and then Braz and Sclipcca, deciding their work was done, made a hurried exit via a side window. Police were called to assist Katon ai d Armstrong and after a search Radio Patrolmen found Sclipcea and Braz at 111 South West street. They made a search of the house and found Katon’s revolver an another one hidden under a pile of trash Mrs. Sclipcea was held on a liquor charge, while her husband and Braz were held for interfering with an officer.

LADOGA YOUTH FREED Charges of stealing government property again, t John Pickett, 19 year old Crawfordsville youth, were dismi -ed by Howard S. Young, United States commissioner, in Indianapolis Monday. Pickett was charged with the theft of a lifle from the National Guard armory in Ladoga, on evidence that he had told several et mpanions that lie "hail one of those guns at home.” Although a gun is mis,-in(f from the armory, there is no other evidence on which to hold him. Pickett a -sorted that his statement was "kiddish bragging.” c OLORED WOMAN DIES Mr Cbiilotte Foster, age 72 years, former Greencastle colored woman, <lie I at the Evansville hospital Monday, ac rding to a message ic-eiveT by county clerk John W. Herod. Mrs. F' -ter entered the hospital July 24, 1931. A brother, Cary Bellamy, of this city, is the only surviving relative. Mrs, F.ster was born in North Caiolina March 4, 1860 but had resided m this city for many year.- prior to entering the hospital.
