The farmer-owned livestock comUikssioii firm at the Indianapolis livestock yards made a ret profit of $43,4141*9 last year, according to Scott Meiks, manager. During the ton year* oi its existence the organization has made net earnings of $584,537.74. I p to January 1, 1932, it had sold live lock for its members in a total

amount of $l(>4,331.!*88.

The Producers Commission Association was organized by the Indiana Farm Bureau in 1922. It started with a few patrons in central Indiana and has made a very rapid growth, reaching into all sections of the state, and into eastern Illinois. In 1931 it handled 20 percent of all the cattle old in the stock yards in Indianapolis, 27 percent of tho calves, 31.6 percent of the hogs, and 37.2 percent of the sheep, according to Mr Meiks. 'Hie livestock handled during the year was th" equivalent of 10. 414 car loads, with a market value of $10,906,358.62. Hie aims of the farmer-owned marketing organization consist of economy, safety and efficiency in selling livestock. The member-pa Irons received a 25 percent refund of the commissions paid during 1931. The average annual patronage refund for the past ten years has been 26 percent. This savings to farmers of Ind-

age refunds are paid from the annual

net earning*.

The financial status of the association is beyond question and the directorate and management are deter-
