WANT TO REDUCE TAXES? Then a revised Constitution for Indiana to include new tax methods L necessary.

A fraln-cradlt provided the prim ipal mr-ans of harventinf mai whan tha prrarnl Stato Constitution wua adopted in 1851.

fjiARMERS of Indiana will pay m.i ly $51,000,000 direct taxes on their lands and improvements thi- year or a little more than onetmrd of all direct taxes. Ba d on income from all sources in the state, it is about 805 more thr.n their fair share. The same tnav he said of city owners of lots and improvements who pay almost one-third of the total or live timei as much as they should. All taxes are paid out of income either direetlv or indirectly. Our grain-eradlo constitution requires all direct taxes to he paid out of income of property which is but 26% of all state income, this is a gross discrimination in favor of the remaining 74% which

pays nothing.

Indiana farm taxes have reached as much as $5.28 per $100 which closely approximates legal interest. This colld he reduced more than 80% if all income were equitably taxed according to ability to pay. High taT rates are the direct results of our seven!vnine year-old constitution. There are other vital reasons for a revised constitution among . . I ar *’"'bool system out of politics, a reorganization of our judicial system and “home rule” for cities. Vole YES for the calling of a conatitutional convention when you *o to the election poll. November 4. COUNTY FARM BUREAU Cooperating with Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc.
