bill was that Buckner was a resident ol Indianapolis and that Posey townhip should not he asked to pay the hospital hill of a pauper from another county. The complaint of the Hospital board was based on the law which provides that a township trnslee must pay the hospital bill in pauper cases,, originating in his town hip. I he jury, however, did not look at the matter in this way and loci,le<l t ba t Posey township was not

responsible for the bill.

In rii-cu ing the case today, H. D Eall . eh. rman of the Board of Hospital trustees, said the effect of the jury’s verdict would be that instead of the taxpayers of Posey township paying the bill it would have to he settled In the taxpayers of the entire

county. Brazil Times.
