Dean Vaught, Limedule youth, was still held In the county jnil Monday afternoon on a charge of forgery, following his arrest Saturday by Deputy Sheriff Alva Bryan. Vaught is alleged to have passed a $35 check at the J. C. Penney store which turned out to lie a forgery. The check was made out to Buster Powell and and signed with the name Ernest Ewing. C. D. I They came to this city three >ears i ago from Greencastle, where they both were horn. Mr. Gifford was em ployed as a water station attendant , by the Monon railroad, and recalls the days when wood burning engine.- were in general use. After Mr. Gifford left the railroad the couple lived on their Putnam county farm until their retirement in 1921. -They are the parents of four children, three of whom are living. They are: James C. Gifford of Richmond; hrank M. Uiflord of Sheridan, and Mrs. T. F. Jones and Mrs. Neva Hollins of Indianapolis.

Crowder, pastor of the First Baptist church of this city. The groom us the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jason H. Kelsey of Gainsville, Gn., and the bridge is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Kern, of Springport.
