William Klein, 17 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Klein of Russellville, was given a suspended 2 lo 14 year term in the State Reformatory by Judge James P. Hughes in 1 the Dutnam circuit court Thur.-day afternoon, when he pleaded guilty to a charge of forgery. The young man was paroled in custody of his par

Klein was arrested in this city on Tuesday morning after cashing a check for $12.75 made out to Robert Brooks and signed by Fred Ford. The check was endorsed with the name Brook.-. Actions of the youth aroused suspicions of the store owner who called Marshal Otto Dobbs who plac*d the young man under arrest. Subequent investigation revealed he had cashed another check at the Penney store and tried to cash one at the Star store. Young Klein .-aid he forged the checks to raise money to go to Kansas for the harvests a month hence. He aid he had just returned from Cininnati where efforts to secure work had failed. His parents said he hail been a model hoy until recently when he had become di.-satisfied with farm

work.

SENTENCE SUSPENDED Paul Fittinger, 23, a Penal Farm escape, was given ft suspended 1 to 5 5 year term in the State Reformatory Thursday by Judge James P. Hughes. Fittinger escaped more than two years ago and his conduct following hjs escape resulted in Superintendent Ralph Howard of the State Farm, recommending that he he given a suspended sentence.
